Rene Lalou

Rene Lalou, born in Paris in 1877, deceased with Neuilly-sur-Seine on August 12th, 1973.

Rene Lalou, lawyer at the Court of Appeal of Paris, business man, became chairman and managing director of the house Mumm, in 1939, and of the Champagne Perrier-Toy, in 1959. He supported arts and the letters and made gift at the Town of Rheims, on June 19th, 1967, of the Notre-Dame vault of Peace. This construction was set up by its care with the assistance voluntary of Léonard Foujita, of which he was the godfather. This architectural and artistic unit reached an international notoriety and still added to the cultural heritage of the city. He married, in 1904, Marthe Dubonnet and was thus managing director, then president, of the Dubonnet house, 1940 to 1957. Rene Lalou, president of association the Friendly of Léonard Foujita, commander about Saint-Gregoire-the-Large, commander of the agricultural Merit, was promoted commander of the Légion of honor. He rests in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
