Rene Gosse (August 16th 1883 with Clermont-l' Herault, December 19th 1943 with Saint-Ismier) is a university Mathématicien and resistant French.

Received to the National university of the street of Ulm in 1904, it adheres to SFIO. It makes the war of 14-18 as adjudant. It is wounded and decorated with the Military Cross. In 1921 he is delegated at the time of the Congrès of Turns, in favor of adhesion to the Third International he briefly joined the rows of the Communist party.

In 1921 it is named in Grenoble, lecturer then professor, it is elected senior in 1927.

At the time of the elections municiples of 1929 it elected on the socialist list of Paul Mistral. Rene Gosse is also the founder in Grenoble of the Comité of vigilance of the intellectuals antifascists.

After the rout of 1940 Rene Gosse is not long in joining resistance, in particular the Réseau Marco Polo, then Jade-Amicol.

The autumn 1943 is fatal with many alpine resistance networks, it however refuses to leave its residence, it is stopped in its residence by the Milice and is found assassinated with his son Jean (1915-1943) the December 19th 1943 with Saint-Ismier. A memorial was built with their honor in an old lime kiln with Meylan.
