Rene Jacquod
Rene Jacquod (1905 - 1994) was a Politician Valaisan Suisse . President of the Social Christian Conservative party of Were worth (PCCS), he will be appointed with the Grand the national Council Valaisan and Conseiller. He was also general secretary of the Valaisan Christian Trade unions.
Political formation and beginnings
Primary education teacher of formation, Rene Jacquod becomes secretary of an equal unemployment fund in 1928. The following year, it takes part in the foundation of the Valaisan Federation of the Christian corporations and trade unions. It begins its engagement apèrs from preserving Youths and with the Movement from the Young Valaisan workers.
Political course
Rene Jacquod is appointed with the Great Council during 23 years: for the District of Sierre of 1937 to 1941, then for the District of Sion of 1950 to 1969. It chairs the Great Valaisan Council in 1964-1965, after which it is named with the presidency of the Valaisan Social Christian (PCCS) Conservative party, where it remains until 1970. With this load, it tries a reorganization of the party and transforms the weekly magazine the Valaisan Fatherland into Valais Tomorrow and manages the transformation of the PCCS into PDC.Rene Jacquod is candidate at the National council in 1951. It misses its election of accuracy and will make its entry at the federal Parliament in 1952, following the departure of Alexandre Favre at the Federal court. It sits there during 15 years, before finishing its course a little brutally, by nona re-election, in 1967. During this period, he is also member of the committee of the Swiss PCCS.
During his career, Rene Jacquod contributes to develop and spread the Christian woman-social ideas in the Conservative party and near the population. Under its presidency, Chrétienne the social assistance of the PCCS obtains a right to a permanent representation near the cantonal committee of the party. Its social Christian anchoring places it in margin of the PCCS, but this position is standardized with the prograssive opening of the party to the idea of Social state between the end of the war and the years '70.
Trade-union, social engagement and familia
Concurrently to its political career, Rene Jacquod is hargé until in 1975 of the general secretary of the Valaisan Christian trade unions. But he is also member of the board of trustees of the Swiss Union of the Raiffeisen cases, secretary of the Valaisan Federation of the magistrates, and father of 8 children.
