Rene Arthur Gagnon , born the March 7th 1925 and deceased the October 12th 1979, one of the six Marines American was immortalisé by Joe Rosenthal on photography Raising the Flag one Iwo Jima , at the time of the Bataille of Iwo Jima during the Second world war.

Youth

Rene Gagnon was born with Manchester, in the New Hampshire, and is the single child of a Franco-Canadian couple of immigrants , Henry Gagnon and Irene Marcotte. Rene grew without his father. His/her parents divorced when it was in low age. When it was older, Rene worked at the sides of his mother to the local mill. Rene was called in 1943, and chooses to join the body of navy of the United States.
