Rendosol

A rendosol is a ground evolved/moved on Bed rock Calcaire, it is the most frequent ground in France.

Rendosol on chalk

(Tender Limestone)

One finds there a vegetation calcicole (basic pH of with active limestone) such as the Genévrier S, Orchidée S.

Rendosol on hard limestone

One observes
  • a horizon of surface rich in Organic matter (of black color)
  • a horizon C of deterioration of the bed rock
  • to arrive finally at the bed rock (of clear color)
