Renault of Chartres
Regnault of Chartres (+ 1444), duke-archbishop of Rheims, it crowned Charles VII. Born with Ons-in-Bray, wire of Hector of Chartres, lord of Lyons-in-Beauvaisis (decapitated with Paris in 1418), and of its second White wife, of Nesle. Half-brother, by his mother, of Guillaume de Flavy. Archbishop of Rheims in 1414 and Chamberlain of the Antipape Jean XXIII. In 1418, it became one of the advisers of the dolphin Charles (future Charles VII of France) Nommé large chancellor of France on a purely provisional basis in 1424 then on a purely final basis in 1428. It takes part in the councils of the war leaders with Orleans. After the sacring of Rheims, named with the temporal governor of the reconquered provinces. Archbishop of Spray in 1432, Agde in 1436, then bishop of Orleans in 1439 and cardinal the same year, finally bishop of Mende in 1444. He dies the April 4th 1444 with Tours.
