Renault Trafic is the name used by Renault to indicate its light utility model.
The design was conceived by Renault and the production is carried out in factories GM from Luton (RU) and Nissan of Barcelona (Esp)
He was elected " Van of the year 2002".
Based on a platform of Renault 18/Renault 20, it modernized the concept of light utility with a clear, roomy and comfortable cockpit, separated from the motorization.
It profited from Essence engines and Diesel, this last motorization having missed with its predecessor. As of the beginning, she was proposed in version traction (T) or propulsion (P) and was declined in multiple alternatives (covered with sheet metal, glazed, raised, lengthened, covered or suitable for motor vehicles) offering payloads going from 800 to 1400 kg.
During its long marketing, it undergoes two restylages (front face and instrument panel) and was the object of many engineering changes (engines, machine elements, equipment of comfort and safety).
From 1997, Opel and Vauxhall marketed the Traffic under name common Arena.
