Renault Scénic

The Renault Scénic (called at its beginnings Mégane Scénic ) of first generation is one of the first cars of the family of the compact Monospace S (after FIAT Multipla in 1956-1965, Mitsubishi Space Wagon left in 1983 and Space Runner left in 1991). Definitely smaller than his/her big brother, the Espace builds by Matra, Scénic rests on the technical platform of the Mégane truck of 1996 of which it takes again the style. Higher than the other of the same vehicles gauge, it proposes three independent places with the back. It is named European Voiture of the year 1997 .

In spite of prices higher than the Truck, success is immediate and exceeds the forecasts of the manufacturer, who is obliged to increase his production capacity. Scénic makes it possible Renault to leave one financial crisis period and to prepare peacefully fusion with Nissan.

Mégane Scénic of first generation was restylée in 1999, then replaced in 2003 by a model derived from the second generation of Mégane.

Body

There exist two types of body:

the Scénic itself, has 5 places;
the Grand Scénic has 3 lines of seats and 7 places.

From September 2006, appears Large Scénic 5 places, at the sides of the 7 places which remains with the catalog.

There exist three levels of equipment:

Pack: initial version;
Comfort: version including the Pack equipment;
Sport
Luxury: full version including the equipment comfort more many gadgets.

Naturally, the whole of the combinations motorization-completion-equipment is not available to the sale: impossible to choose a Privilège environment without a level of equipment Luxates, for example.
