History
First images of Renault R27 were taken at a meeting of tests carried out by the French stable on the circuit of Silverstone, in Great Britain, on January 10th, 2007. It is about a simple aerodynamic test, of a score of kilometers hardly, swallowed for the majority in straight line. Delivered seen this day there is identical to that raised by the R27-02 frame with Jerez, to Spain, at the time of its true baptism in track. It is indeed on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 that the Italian pilot Giancarlo Fisichella carries out the first live meeting of test of the car. Delivered decorating the single-seater this day thus does not use yet the final colors: the yellow is located at the same place as on the Renault R26 of 2006 whereas blue night replaces blue sky of Mild Seven, cigaretier who disappeared from the Renault single-seaters in 2007. The final colors will be presented the following week to Amsterdam, bases new silent partner titrates, the financial institution Dutchwoman ING. Nevertheless, there is an outline of it this same Tuesday, January 16, 2007 on the conveying trucks of the stable, arranged behind the garage, and which are decorated of an orange and black band separating the Renault yellow from the white.
The first complete day of test of R27 does not proceed without incident. Giancarlo Fisichella must indeed return to the garage to feet after the explosion of its engine at the time of its last tower of the day. It covers nevertheless 33 solo circuits, without major incident other that this breakdown. Fisichella buckles its best turn into 1 ' 20" 683, is 3 tenth hardly more quickly than the beginner Kazuki Nakajima, new tester of Williams, on a " vieille" FW28B motorized by Toyota. Undoubtedly the adaptation to the tires Bridgestone, manufacturer single in 2007, is one of the answers possible to this weak variation. The first rolling of R27 nevertheless is primarily directed towards reliability.
The following day, on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, two R27 are in track with Jerez, the hands of Fisichella always, and of the Finn Heikki Kovalainen. Renault is thus the first stable to put in track two single-seaters 2007.
