Renault 30

The Renault 30 is a model of Automobile designed and produced by the French manufacturer Renault.

Its body, drawn by Gaston Juchet, is Bicorps with a Hayon and is identical to that of the Renault 20, except optics fronts (4 round optics out of 30,2 quasi-rectangular optics out of the 20). It is characterized primarily by its motorizations and its equipment, superior.

Equipped with four independent wheels, helical springs, superimposed Shock absorber S telescopic, triangles, it is comfortable and holds the road well, but its very flexible suspension causes a strong elevating with acceleration and braking, less starting from the model 1980 and its nose gear with negative offset.

Unfortunately, this excellent road was not the success which it deserved (especially in V6), in particular because of the oil crisis of 1974. Many motorists thus preferred Renault 20, mechanically wiser, more economic and, especially, available in Diesel engine since 1979.

It should be noted that, in 1981, she sees appearing in her range a four-cylinder motor turbo - diesel, from which the block is resulting from that, atmospheric, of Renault 20.

Models

  • March 1975 - Renault 30 TS , driving 2  664 cm ³ V6 gasoline with carburettors (engine PRV, developed jointly between Peugeot, Renault and Volvo) of 131 ch DIN, with a choice of Gear box to 4 reports/ratios manual or 3 automatic reports/ratios. Among the equipment of series, one finds a grill with four round headlights, the panes before electric and a centralized closing of the doors, forage ladder and trap door with gasoline.

  • October 1978 - R30 TX . The engine remains same the V6 gasoline, but with an injection Bosch K-Jetronic to replace the system with carburettors and whose power goes up to 142 ch DIN. The manual gear box passes to 5 reports/ratios whereas the automatic version is unchanged. Moreover, this model receives wheels with light alloy rims, the panes are with electric drive on the four doors. It receives also other equipment of comfort such as head-rests in the places before and backs. A speed regulator electronic (rather a regulator of pace, called " normalur") is also available with its order on the stealing.
  • 1981 - Stop of the production of the 30 TS.
  • at the end of 1981 - R30 Turbo D . A new motorization makes its appearance: one four cylinders 2  069 cm ³ turbo - diesel delivering 85 ch DIN, derived from the atmospheric block appeared a little earlier on R20. Side equipment of series, it is located between that of from now on the late TS and that of the TX.
  • at the end of 1983 - Stop of the production of R20 and R30, replaced by the Renault 25.
