Renault - Factory of Sandouville
The factory Renault de Sandouville is a factory of the automobile group Renault, installed since 1964 on the territory of the commune of Sandouville (Seine-Maritime), not far from the port of the Havre.
One initially built there the Renault 16, then Renault 17, Renault 20, Renault 30, Renault 18, Renault 21, Renault 25, Renault Safrane, Renault Laguna, Renault Vel Satis and Renault Espace (starting from Space IV), is the main part of the vehicles of high-end of the ex-Control.
After having employed until 12 000 people, manpower was of 4 650 in 2006, in a site which functions this year with only 40% of its capacity because of the commercial failure of Laguna and Vel Satis. The employees await their safety of the Laguna news to launching at the end of 2007, to ensure the future of the site: “If the first car which one tries to make live again in Sandouville does not work, that will have consequences for this site which turns already only to 40% of its capacities. Our plan is realistic, but not idealistic. ”
