Renaud II of Burgundy

Renaud II of Burgundy (1061 - 1097) is count de Bourgogne, of Mâcon, Vienna and Oltingen, wire of the count Guillaume Ier of Burgundy, older brother of the count Etienne Ier of Burgundy which it precedes, and brother of the pope Calixte II

Biography

Born in 1061, wire of the Count Guillaume Ier of Burgundy and Étiennette of Longwy-Metz (girl of the duke Adalbert of Lorraine)

1087 it succeeds at the same time as his/her brother Etienne Ier of Burgundy old 25 years his/her father the count Guillaume Ier of Burgundy under count de Bourgogne and count de Macon. He belongs to powerful and influential family line with the marriages of his brothers and his sisters to the majority of the close powers (see children of Guillaume Ier of Burgundy).

It Marie with the countess Régine d' Oltingen, girl “heiress” of the count Conon d' Oltingen (area of Basle in German-speaking Switzerland) of which he inherits the titles and fields by marriage and of which he has a son Guillaume II of Burgundy says German.

1097 it dies at the time of the first crusades (1096 - 1099) with old 41 years

His/her brother Etienne Ier of Burgundy succeeds to him like count de Bourgogne and his/her son Guillaume II of Burgundy succeeds to him jointly with Renaud III of Burgundy (the son of its brother Etienne Ier of Burgundy) like count de Macon.
