Renaud Camus , born with Chamalières in 1946, is a French writer. He is in particular the author of a newspaper held since 1985 and published year per year.
Biography
Resulting from a middle-class family of province, solitary child even silent, but very curious, Renaud Camus made his studies in Paris: licenses of Right and Letters, controls Philosophy, diploma of political Studies…). He was the disciple of Roland Barthes of which he followed a time the seminars. He knew during the Seventies an intense fashionable life (meetings with Roland Barthes, Louis Aragon, Bob Wilson, Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol, Marguerite Duras, Frederic Mitterrand…) and spent the Eighties between Paris, Rome (it was resident Villa Médicis), and voyages in France or throughout the world. It is during these same years that he was chronicler in the review Gai foot (articles joined together in Chroniques Achriennes ).It finally chose, in 1993, the castle of Plieux, in the Gers, as tallies of retirement far from the city. It remains thus in a “place” (important concept of work camusienne) eminently favourable with literary and poetic creation (one could not neglect dimension heideggerienne of this choice). It wrote during these last years of the tourist guides (at the very least daring) on the departments of the Gers, the Lozere and the Herault, of the handbooks of courtesy ( Eloge of appearing , Notes on the manners of time ), of grammar and linguistics ( Répertoire of delicacies of contemporary French , Synatxe or the other in the voice ), but also - and it is more surprising - a test of economy which deeply marked a generation disputing the hierarchies and work ( That there are no employment problems ). If it were likely to receive the price " 30 million amis" for its novel " Life of the Horla" dog; , he was also unfortunate candidate with the French Academy in spite of the protean character of his work.
In addition to his activities of writer and cultural worker to the castle of Plieux, Renaud Camus directs the Parti the Innocence (of which he is founder and president), left constituted around the values of good citizenship, civility, civilization, urbanity, respect of the word and innocence , nocence given that like harmful effect . He is not negligible of knowing only if the readers of Renaud Camus gave to him their greater support at the time of " the Camus" business; (cf Discusses), the creation of the party of Innocence was not without causing force clashes within the Company of the readers of Renaud Camus.
Discusses
In his newspaper of 1994 (appeared in 2000 pennies the name the Countryside of France ), Renaud Camus emitted remarks on what it however perceived like on-representation of journalists Juif S dealing with the Judaïsme in radio program having a vocation general practitioner and nondenominational. That, inter alia, was worth to him a charge of Antisémitisme, of which it was defended in Corbeaux , the newspaper of " the affaire" , then in 2002 in Of the Direction , and finally in K310 , the newspaper of the year 2000. Renaud Camus was supported, inter alia, by Alain Finkielkraut and Elisabeth Levy. He wrote on this subject:-
“the Jewish collaborators of the Panorama of France-Culture exaggerate a little all the same: on the one hand they are about four out of five with each emission, or four out of six or five out of seven, which, on a national or almost official station, constitutes clear on representation of an ethnicity or monk given; in addition, they make so that an emission per week at least is devoted to the Jewish culture, the Jewish religion, Jewish writers, the State of Israel and its policy, with the life of the Jews in France and all over the world, today or through the centuries. ” ( Newspaper , delivers IX, " The countryside of France" , 2000)
Introduction to the reading of the Eclogues
The Églogues consist of seven volumes, three remainder to come (including one published in April 2007, after more than twenty years of interruption): Passage (1975), Exchange (1976), Through (1978), Be (1982, subtitle Through II ) and Love the autumn (subtitle Through III ).Does eclogues come from ex-logos , out of the word (?) or word of the others, the great universal speech. They are composed, a such patchwork, quotations of the literature and newspapers and fragments autobiographical, more or less fictionalized. These quotations “are not quoted”, i.e. they neither are identified (by quotation marks or italics), nor referred (name of author, delivers, newspaper…). It is to the reader to manage. There is no history within the meaning of account, there are at most fragments which are answered, organized around topics (the madness, names, double and its corollary, the inversion (double out of mirror)) and of generating names according to rules of homophony, anagrams and slips of sounds and direction (for example (Hugo) Wolf, Wolfson, Onslow, (Virginia) Woolf, Saint-Wolf, wolf (mask on the face), wolf (animal), etc).
This textual provision has as an ambition to make disappear the concepts of author and narrator. This ambition is clearly posted in the use of pseudonyms, or hétéronymes: the second book is signed Denis Duvert, the third Renaud Camus and Tony Duparc, the fourth Jean-Renaud Camus and Denis Duvert, the last J.R.G Camus and Antoine Duparc. It is about a variation around the word of Pascal: “That it is not said that I did not say anything again: the provision of the matters is new”; into same as long as of an application of the program of Flaubert: “It would be necessary that, in all the course of the book, there was not a word of my vintage, and that once it would have been read one did not dare any more to speak, of fear of naturally saying one of the sentences which are there” (letter with Louise Collet, December 17th, 1962 ( Through , p. 111)), on the one hand; in addition of a taking into account of the reflections of Roland Barthes on the totalitarianism of the language and the author. It acts also, and perhaps especially, in a way of continuing the work of the new novel while being inspired or while following step by step the theoretical analyzes of Jean Ricardou.
Reading of the Eclogues a vast program of reading, but also of visionnages of films, tables, of listening of Lieder, voyages, etc, a race-continuation in the whole of the fields of the Occidental culture. The ideal reader would be a crossing of Pierre Ménard and the Dupin knight. There is in all that a formidable invitation to play, with two dimensions of the play, envoûtement and lightness.
