Renaison
Renaison is a common French, located in the department of the the Loire and the area the Rhone-Alps.
Its inhabitants is called Renaisonnais and Renaisonnaises.
Geography
Renaison is located at the North-West of the department of the Loire, to 10 kilometer in the west of Roanne on the canton of Saint-Haôn-the-Châtel. The commune extends on the first buttresses from the mounts from the Madeleine, within the coast roannaise. It has two stoppings, the stopping of the Resident of Chartres (or stopping of the Spot) and the stopping of Rouchain. They are the drinking water reserve of all the basin roannais. The area is of more favourable with the vine growing.
History
The area seems inhabited since the oldest times. Well cut flints were found with the Bread basket, a raised stone with Peuil. Vestiges dating from the Roman epoch were found, in fact substructions were discovered with the locality Cross-God . Lastly, the origin of the parish goes back to the Christian period.Before 1294, difficulties reign between the Co-lords of the country, the counts of Drill and the prior of Ambierle. These difficulties are regulated by a convention going back to this same year. It regulates in particular the rights of justice. At this same period, it would seem that Crossings returning of Palestine bring back names for the localities of Renaison (Judaea, Montlivet). Walls for the protection of the castle and the borough are built at the beginning of the 14th century. At the 15th century, the Minister of Finance of the king Charles VII, Jacques Heart, has the oriental party of Renaison.La city was plundered by the calvinists in 1576, 1591 and 1592-1593. An epidemic of plague takes place during the years 1629-1630. The passages of soldiers who “lived flights and plunders” caused a riot in 1691.
At the time of the French revolution, the Co-seigniory ends. Saint-Haôn-the-Châtel becomes chief town of canton in the place of Renaison what involves financial problems and administrative. At the beginning of the 19th century, the calm cost. That makes it possible Renaison to be prosperous throughout the century thanks to the vineyard, with the mills on the river, the trade, the craft industry and the middle-class. Towards the end of the century, an epidemic of Phylloxéra destroys the near total of the vineyard.
In 1888, the town of Roanne makes build the stopping of the Resident of Chartres. It will be finished in 1891. The church of Renaison, the church Sainte Madeleine is built in 1896. During the 20th century, the vineyard is rebuilt and the industry of cookie develops. Renaison becomes the principal commune of the coast roannaise. One builds the town hall and the bell-tower of the church in 1909. This same year is born the Jalopy, railroad active of Roanne with Ambierle.
The First World War makes 69 killed and 17 missings out of the 423 Renaisonnais mobilized. The second fact it 15 killed and 3 missings out of the 190 Renaisonnais mobilized. The German soldiers set fire to several buildings on August 10th, 1944 as reprisals because the Résistance is well installed in Renaison. 28 Renaisonnais young people are off-set. For these facts, the commune receives the Military Cross 1939-1945 with bronze star.
In 1969, the city is twinned with Gruyères (Switzerland). A second stopping is built between 1970 and 1975, it is the stopping of Rouchain. In 1976, a nursery school is built, followed little by a college in 1978. It will be increased in 1983 and 2006. The second twinning is signed in 1992 with Pagouda (Togo). February 14th, 1994, the whole of the vineyard of the coast roannaise obtains the Appellation of controlled origin (AOC). In 1998, the town hall is increased and work of urban refitting starts. In 2003, Renaison enters the Communauté of communes of the West roannais.

the Holy church Madeleine Built in 1896, its bell-tower is built in 1909. It is a néo-Romance church with a nave with buttresses, a transept, an apse with four absidioles as well as a high bell-tower in frontage. Moreover, one organ is present in the church. It was yielded in 1981 by the vault of the work of St Nicolas (Paris) to association St Roch de Renaison. It was classified historic building on November 12th, 1991.
- the vault Saint-Roch Built in 1869 by the architect Mr. CHATARD, it was given to the worship of the parish at the end of its construction in 1872.
- the castle of Beaucresson It is a private property. It is with the locality bearing its name on the road of Saint-Germain Lespinasse and goes back to the 15th century. It has a typical location because it is with horse on the communes of Renaison and Saint-Haon the Old man. Old strengthened castle surrounded by broad ditches of which each angle were marked of a tower. Only one among it is still upright today.
- the castle of Bernarde It is a private field. It is opened with the public at the time of the day of the inheritance every two years like for certain occasions. Its construction goes back to 1720-1750. It is partially classified as a historic building since May 16th, 1979.
- the castle of Taron It dates from the 17th century. It is a castle with court, gardens drawn, drawbridge and terrace. It is today an Institute Médico Educatif
- the stopping of the Resident of Chartres (or stopping of the Spot) Barrage arches built of 1888 to 1891, it is a stone work of art of size. Put out of water in 1892, it would seem that this stopping vault is one of oldest the stopping arches France.
- stopping of Rouchain Stopping weight built in 1976. It is separated from the stopping of the Resident of Chartres by a rock peak.
