Religion parodies

A Parodie of Religion can parody a Religion, a Secte or a Culte. It can parody several religions, sects, Gourou S or worships at the same time. Sometimes, the activity on data-processing networks (like Internet or Usenet) of these false religions is more important than in the “true life”.

A rare example of film of parody of religion is the Life of Brian of the Monty Python. Dogma of Kevin Smith (1999) parody also of the religious topics of the Bible. The French group Unknown the also parodied in one of its Sketch are the life of Jesus ( Jesus II, the return ).

Beyond the institutionalized religions, and from the frequently composite character of their Doctrines, the Secte S are rather often parodied; the sect Richenou of Unknown in is a known example, but one can also quote Fallait not! of Gerard Jugnot, the cartoon the prophet (Lucky Luke) of Morris, etc…

The majority of the religions are founded on the concept that God is a being of Reason (cf Logos and Monisme). However, these parodies of religion proclaim the Absurdity like base of their worship and deny the reasonable character of God.
