Entirely wedged in the canton of Lamy, the municipality of the village of Parent occupies a space of 41 km ² in High-Mauricie, to 150 km in the North-West of Tuque, in extreme cases is Indian reserve of Obedjiwan. Its territory is strewn with several water levels and is crossed by the river Bazin.
Indeed, in 1912, Parent become for a time the principal terminus of the railway bond between Quebec and [[Cochrane]] in [[Ontario]].
