Relations between Cameroun and France

As an old colony of the France, the Cameroun has several partnerships with this country. They are in particular cultural co-operations , assistance to the development or strategic agreements on the defense. To concretize this co-operation, it was established the August 11th 2006 a Document tallies of partnership (DCP) between France and Cameroun, which aims to specify the priority fields of intervention and the methods of the free-Cameronian co-operation during the five next years.

This co-operation takes various forms. For example, France is thus the first destination of Cameronian coming to occident on business or to continue higher learning. However, this migration tends to being increasingly controlled to limit flow of them. This limitation appears mainly by the hardening of the conditions of obtaining visa.

In addition, by the means of the Contract of degearing and development, signed following the result of the Initiative PPTE, France will help Cameroun with height of a little more than one billion Euro, that is to say as far as the assistance resulting from the point of completion PPTE.

According to the magazine Challenges , Cameroun was quoted as the country of Africa where French succeeds best.
