The military interventions of the the United States in the world have been numerous for more than 150 years, like those of many countries. The causes are sometimes justified and sometimes denounced by the international institutions.
This list includes/understands direct military interventions (Guerre S, sending of Armed forces of the United States) and indirect (support Logistique for Gouvernement S or movements, activity of the secret services).
List external interventions
- 1775 - 1776: With the Canada and in the Atlantic during the War of independence of the United States.
- 1798 with 1800: Quasi war naval Conflict against Revolutionary France. And North-American coast Caribbean Sea of the Atlantic. Finished by the Treated of Mortefontaine.

- Japan, the commodore Matthew Perry obliges Japan to open in the Occident with the Convention of Kanagawa in 1854
- Îles Ryukyu and Îles Bonin. The rear-admiral Perry uses the deterrent power from his naval fleet towards the authorities of Naha, on the island of Okinawa, which grant the management of a concession mining to him, the islands of Bonin, as well as commercial facilities.
- 1854 : Nicaragua, in reprisals with an offense made with minister-resident American in station with Nicaragua, destruction of the village of Greytown (San Juan del Norte).

- 1859: China, protection of the American interests with Shanghai
- 1860: Angola, intervention in order to protect the citizens and from the American goods at the time of an indigenous revolt with Kissembo against Portugal.
- 1893 : Hawaii, in order to protect the lives and the goods from the United States, installation of a provisional government under the authority of Sanford D. Dole, final annexation in 1898.
- 1894 : Nicaragua, intervention with Bluefields in order to protect the interests from the United States following a revolution.
- 1898 : Cuba, War against the Spain, installation, construction of a military base with like reason release of the Spanish supervision. The United States imposes the possibility of financial investments and a right of interference in the interior matters of the country.

- 1947 : Greece, military logistical support for the mode set up by the the United Kingdom.
- 1950 with 1953: War of Korea, bombardments in China.
- 1953 : Iran: the CIA organizes a coup d'etat.
- 1954 : Guatemala, inversion of the government in place.
- 1958 : bombardments in Indonesia.
- 1960 : bombardments with the Guatemala.
- 1961 : Cuba, fiasco of the unloading in the Bay of the Pigs
- 1961 with 1972:
- War of Vietnam, use of napalm and the orange Agent, in particular at the time of the operation “Hand Ranch” (75 million liters of weedkillers). The victims of the orange agent (US population Vietnamese and soldiers) suffer from cancers and various lesions and their children of malformations. A complaint near the courts of the the United States of America was carried against the producing industrialists of this agent.

- 1980 with 1990: El Salvador, military aid with the government and the Death squads, to drive out the guerilla. 100 000 died in this civil war.
- 1981 with 1988: Nicaragua, support of the Countered located at the Honduras, in order to fight against the Sandiniste S of Nicaragua.
- 1983 :
- Lebanon Multinational force of Maintenance of peace, departure after double attacks against the HQ American and French.
- Grenade Invasion: to see Operation Urgent Fury.
- 1986, April 14th: Libya, bombardment of several cities and military bases, 37 dead Libyans, 2 American pilots killed following anti-US attacks in Europe.
- 1988, April 18th: Battle of the oil platforms Sassan and Sirri vis-a-vis in Iran.
- 1989 :
- 1991 : War of Kuwait, 1990-1991 (operation Storm of the desert ) following a request of the Kuwait (occupied by the Iraq) to UNO. With the support of UNO and several countries of NATO. Use of weapons to uranium depleted, shown to cause Leukemia S among the veterans.
- 1993 - 1994: Somalia, Operation Restore Hope, military intervention of the E. - U. to support the operations of UNO.
- 1994 : Haiti, intervention to install the President elected Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
- 1995 : Bosnia-Herzégovine, air support for the forces of the ONU/OTAN on the spot then déployement of a force of Maintenance of peace.
- 1998 : Iraq, four days of air raid on military and industrial objectives.
