The majority of the Japan board do not believe in a particular Religion. Many are those, particularly at the young generation, with being opposite with the religions, for historical reasons and because of the development of science. During the Second world war it was required of the Japanese people to take part in the ceremonies Shinto with the limitation of the activities of the other religions. Many others have a neutral vision of the religion and several in their life practice some. The same person can go to request with the temple shinto at the new year for one happy new year and before the examinations of entry at the school to beseech her success. The same person will have a marriage in a church (NB: a Christian marriage requires that the two husbands are baptized and prepared with this sacrament, which requires a real investment and time; if not, it is of a blessing and not about a marriage) and funeral in a Buddhist temple . A certain number of new religions which were established after the Second world war, or right front, have also an important place in Japan.
The Japan, which was believed out of reach religious fanaticism, awoke painfully the morning of March 12th 1995 with the attack of a station of Métro of Tokyo to the gas sarin by members of the sect Aum Shinrikyo. The assessment of this attack will be established with 12 killed people and more than 5500 wounded. However, this isolated act is not representative of the climate of peace which reigns between the various religious communities in Japan.
