Reiner Reineccius

Reiner Reineccius (1541-1595) was a German Historien.
Born with Steinheim in Westphalia, he taught the humanities and the history with Frankfurt, then with Helmstedt, and was one of the restorers of the historical studies in Germany.
He published, under the title of Scriptores rerum germanicarum , the old chronicles of the monk Witikind, Dithmar, Albert of Aix, etc (16 volumes published between 1577 and 1580), and gave the Historia Julia , history of the Chaldéens and the Assyrian .
