Reichstett
Reichstett is a common French, located in the department of the the Low-Rhine and the area Alsace.
Geography
Located at approximately 7 km of Strasbourg, Reichstett is a city flowered accessible by plane, highway, road and public transport.
History
For the first time, the existence of cettte village is mentioned in a document of the Emperor Frederic Barberousse. This last bequeaths in 1163, with the Church Saint-Thomas of Strasbourg, the goods of the suburbs of Rinstett. From 1271 to 1486, one mentions generation of nobility who died out with Nicolas de Rinstett, in 1486. A document of 1350 names the village of Rynstett, whereas in 1163 one wrote Rinstetten and in 1259 Rinstettin.Set fire to on several occasions by plundering bands, Reichstett was entirely destroyed by the troops of Mansfeld in 1622. Ten years later, in 1632, the Swedes forced the inhabitants to evacuate the village. In 1667, Reichstett counted only 80 inhabitants who paid Dîme with the priest of the village. In a document of 1670, it appears that Reichstett is a rich village, on the fertile ground, having a beautiful forest and well cultivated fields. In 1678, Reichstett is invaded by the armies of the Créqui Marshal, which set fire to the village, while Turenne continued the Germans beyond the Rhine.
The current church, to build in 1767, increased by two transepts about 1900. The construction of the organ dates from the same time. During the war of 1914/1918, the Germans employed Strong Rapp like Russian and Italian prison camp. Between the two wars, the teaching of French was restored in our schools, but suspended again during the German occupation of 1940/1944. From June 1940 to the release in 1944, Reichstett, like besides all Alsace, undergoes the pure and simple annexation in Large German Reich. The commune was managed by Bürgermeister and a " Ortsgruppenleiter ". November 23rd, 1944, the Commune was released by the 2nd Armor-plated Division of the Leclerc General. The de Gaulle General, thanks to his prestige near the Americans, succeeded in maintaining the latter with their occupied positions in November 1944. A few days afterwards, against offensive launched by the French troops drew aside any danger.
With the release, an Administrative Committee, was indicated by the Prefect and remained in function until the first municipal elections in autumn 1945.
Economy
Reichstett accommodates (the largest part is on the round of applause of Vendenheim) a oil refinery pertaining to the group Shell, via its subsidiary company Rhenish Compagnie of refining (C.R.R.).

Built between 1872 and 1875 by the Prussians, the Fort Rapp belongs to the fortifications advanced of Strasbourg.La Commune is owner of the fort since 1998.Il was classified with the additional inventory of the historic buildings in 2001. With the support of the Commune, association " Inheritance and History of Reichstett" and the Friendly one of Old Colonial of the Troops of Navy maintain the Fort and organize guided visits of this work.the Park of the Alsatian House is small écomusée in Reichstett village of the Low-Rhine, in the North of Alsace. The houses are restored by the voluntary ones and recall the life in 1900 and the agricultural life through photographs, reconstitutions, costumes, machines, pieces of furniture of time and thanks to the guided visits.
A gravel pit and a center balénaire are also present in this city at human dimension. A park of storks is visible while crossing the main roads and of the forests surround the town of Reichstett.
