Regular Canons of the Mother of God
The Regular Chanoines of the Mother of God are a catholic religious community of pontifical right, founded in 1969 under the name of Opus Mariae in the diocese of Gap. This order was high with the row of Abbaye at Pentecost 1997. It is installed since 2004 in the diocese of Carcassonne in the Abbaye Sainte-Marie de Lagrasse. They obtained the liturgical use of the books of 1962 according to the method of Motu Proprio Ecclesia Dei.
Regular canons
The Regular Canons are of the monk, as a priests majority, alive in community under the Règle of saint Augustin, attached to a Monastère or a church, and which are dedicated to the Liturgie and with the Apostolat. That thus gives a triptych: common life, contemplative life and apostolic life.
Then, the liturgy, the Divine office, is a load of unmemorable tradition; the Pape Jean-Paul II recalled it to the confederated canons, in 1984: “ You are charged, as canons, of the solemn divine worship of the Église, which consists mainly in the celebration choral society of the Liturgie of the Hours and the Eucharistie, remembering that the Liturgy is the top to which the action of the Church tends, and at the same time, the source from which all its force rises. ”
