Register Transfer Level (RTL) is a method of description of architectures micro-electronics.
In design RTL, the behavior of a circuit is defined in terms of sendings of signals or transfers of information between registers, and the logical operations carried out on these signals. RTL is used in the languages of material description (HDL) like Verilog and VHDL to create representations of a circuit with high level, from which the representation on low level and real wiring can be derived.
