Regional natural park of the Pole

This park was created in 1998. It extends on: 182000 hectares and two departments: the Flowering ash in the west and the Eure-et-Loir in the east. 118 communes are adherent with the charter of the Park, that is to say 76  000 inhabitants.

Like the others 44 regional natural parks of France, the Park of the Perche has the roles:

  • the protection and the management of the natural heritage and cultural;
  • town and country planning;
  • economic development and social;
  • the reception, the education and the information of the public;
  • the experimentation in these four missions.

The House of the Park is located on the Field of Courboyer at Nocé in the Orne, where one find a tourist information and reception center, a shop and a restaurant of the products of the Pole, a manor of, as well as a pond and a field of 65 hectares with horses Percherons, asses and cows Normans.

The pond at summer the object of recent installations of ecological Genius, aiming to widen the pond, to create new additional ponds, to reform the central small island and to flatten the slopes. These installations also have a teaching role, where the renovated pond plays the part of support during animations to show with the public the roles and interests of the wetlands.

The Pole (a province which dates from) is characterized by:

  • a very rich natural heritage
  • a landscape of rivers, hills and scrap-metal
  • villages around their charming church
  • Of many manors
  • a dynamic and various agriculture
  • the Horse Percheron
