Regional natural park of the Marsh poitevin

The Regional natural park of the Marsh poitevin, Val of Separates and the Vendée , created in 1979, was displaced in 1996 because of the failure of its mission of safeguarding of the environment of a great wetland. The structure of management (a mixed trade-union) was maintained under name of interregional park of the Marsh poitevin .

It is about the only case of downgrading of a Regional natural park since the creation of these structures.

In 2002, the two areas concerned (Poitou-Charentes and Country of the Loire) launched the step of drafting of a new charter, in order to obtain that the interregional park of the Poitevin Marsh is again labellisé like regional natural park .
