Regional natural park of Millevaches in the Limousin

The regional natural park of Millevaches in the Limousin , created in 2004, is located at horse on the three departments of the the Limousin (Corrèze, Creuse, High-Vienna)

the territory of park (3 143 km ²) is populated of 38.905 inhabitants divided in 113 communes, 14 places chiefs of canton and 1 urban unit.

Millevaches, Thousand Sources, Thousand Resources!

Located on the buttresses of the Massif Central, in the middle of the highlands of the Mountain Limousine, the Regional natural park of Millevaches in the Limousin extends on the departments from Corrèze, Hollow and High-Vienna, between 400 and 1000 meters of altitude.

Its territory consists of remarkable natural environments where alternate peaty, dry moors with heathers, forests of leafy trees, forests of slope, meadows, gentian,… It shelters significant animal species: pearl-bearing otter, mussel, butterflies rare, linnets, circaète, trout fario,…, and constitute a ground of stage of the migratory birds.

It is an alive country, a paradise for the practice of a broad pallet of activities “life size”, a country with the rich person cultural heritage and ground of “know-how”, a country of discovered: cruisings or crossing of the boroughs in the car, favourable with discovered history, a country of delicacies with products of our rich person soil on the slack ones of the various producers, and who give place to delicious receipts appearing in the menus of the restaurants, inns or tables of hosts of the territory, a country of landscapes strewn with lakes, ponds and rivers.
