Regional natural park of Lorraine

Created in 1974, the territory of the regional natural park of Lorraine covers a surface of 219  400 Hectare S is close to 11  % of the Lorraine area .

Topography

The park with the characteristic to be separate in two parts, on both sides of a strongly urbanized zone of the furrow native of the Moselle region of Nancy to Metz. It thus extends on three departments: 77.570 hectares in Meuse (35%), 74.357 hectares in Meurthe-et-Moselle (34%) and 67.909 hectares in the Moselle (31%).

part western

It is extended, it is limited by Verdun, Metz, Nancy, Toul and Commercy. It extends on part of the valleys of the the Moselle and Meuse, on the Côtes of Meuse and on the plain of Woëvre.

part Is

It is limited by Castle-Saline, Morhange, Fénétrange, Réchicourt-the-Castle. It corresponds to the natural areas of the Saulnois and the country of the ponds (Lindre, Gondrexange, Mittersheim, etc), located on a migratory flux of many birds.
