Definition
The word RegioExpress is a multilingual contraction of
" Regional train express".
It is about a category of train Swiss. It is indicated by the initials
RE .
Description
A RegioExpress train is described by the Swiss official indicator like " quickly in the régions". In theory it awaits a few minutes the correspondences, and it accepts the bicycles. Normally the train is accompanied by a conductor and/or a sales representative of train, it is thus not subjected to the self-checking.

In Switzerland, several EFF (railway companies) exploit of RegioExpress, the principal one being the
Swiss federal Railroads (SBB CF FFS), but BLS and the

Typical composition
There does not exist true rule concerning the composition. However RegioExpress is often tractor drawn by an engine classifies Re 4/4 II, or by its equivalent in metric gauge track. It is also often about a reversible oar, i.e. there is a Voiture at the other end of the oar controls.
The nostaligiques ones of the oars " SwissExpress" will be filled, because RegioExpress of the BLS are exploited with those (in renovated version).
Equivalence
For this category it is difficult to give an equivalence on the international plan.
It corresponds about to the FOR THE THIRD TIME (train regional express) of the SNCF. Moreover, when a train FOR THE THIRD TIME penetrates on the Swiss network, it is officially indicated like RegioExpress.
Attention not to confuse RE (Swiss) with the ANGER (Allemangne) which indicates a InterRegioExpress train
