Regiments of the colonies

The French Army constituted in an old way of the units embarked on the ships, intended for the naval action (boarding) then with the conquest and with the conservation of the colony S. These troops then became of the colonial troops. These units were reinforced by local recruitment, primarily in the infantry but also in the cavalry (spahis).

History
