Dynasty

The regency is one transitional period during which a personality (generally of the royal family) exerts the power in the name of the monarch in title, too young, absent, incompetent to control by itself or not being able to take up its duties generally of king.

Belgium

  • -1478 ~ -1457 : regency of Hatchepsout, aunt of Thoutmosis {{III}}.

France

  • 1059 - 1066: regency of Anne of Kiev, mother of Philippe I {{er}};
  • 1226 - 1242: white regency of of Castille, mother of Louis IX;
  • 1316 - 1316: regency of Philippe of Poitiers, future Philippe V says Length, at the time of died of his/her brother Louis X says Hutin, in June, and until the untimely death of the son of this last, Jean I {{er}} says the Posthumous one, in September;
  • 1380 - 1388: regency of the dukes of Berry and Burgundy, uncles of Charles VI;
  • 1483 - 1491: regency of Anne of France, girl of Louis XI and his husband Pierre de Bourbon (1438-1503) during the minority of Charles VIII, their brother and brother-in-law;
  • Catherine de Médicis:
    • 1552 - 1552: regency at the time of the departure in war of his/her husband Henri II,
    • 1560 - 1563: regency during the minority of its second wire Charles IX.
  • 1610 - 1622: regency of Marie de Médicis, mother of Louis XIII
  • 1643 - 1651: regency of Anne of Austria, mother of Louis XIV
  • 1715 - 1723: regency of Philippe of Orleans known as the Regent , nephew of Louis XIV. This regency constituted a political regime in oneself: the Regency .
  • 8/2/1830 - 8/9/1830: regency of Louis-Philippe duke of Orleans, general lieutenant of the kingdom since the 7/31/1830, following the abdication of the king Charles X, the renunciation of the duke of Angouleme (louis XIX) and of the advent of Henri V (duke of Bordeaux) 10 years old.

History

The Régences Barbaresque S indicate the vassal modes of the Ottoman Empire established with Tripoli, Tunis and Algiers.

Art

The style Régence is the name given to the furniture created in France under Regency at the beginning of the 18th century. Furniture regency precedes the style Louis XV by introducing a contour supported in particular on the level of the feet (of convenient for example) while keeping the imposing and majestic aspect style Louis XIV.
