Refusals To split alias B.T.K - Serial killer

Born the March 9th 1945, it was useful in the Air Force between 1966 and 1970. In 1971, it settled with Park City, close to Wichita (Kansas). He worked like person in charge of the safety of 1974 with 1988. He obtained a diploma of right in 1979. From 1989, it worked for the office of the census of its state. From 1991, it worked for the town hall of Park City. He was laid off in March 2005.

In August 2005, it was recognized guilty of the murders of 10 people, for whom it had pled guilty. He was not condemned to the capital punishment because its crimes took place before 1994, the year when the capital punishment was restored in Kansas. However, it was compels with ten consecutive lives of imprisonment. It will be entitled to the parole starting from February 26th, 2180 when it is 235 years old.

Its victims lived all in Wichita or Park City, and were assassinated between 1974 and 1991.

In January 1974, Rader assassinated a whole family almost:

Joseph Otero, 38 years
Julie Otero, her wife, 34 years
Josephine Otero, 11 years
Joseph Otero Junior, 9 years

Three other children of Otero were at the school during the murders.

In April 1974, it stabbed Kathryn Bright, 21 years and shot at his/her brother, Kevin, which survived.
In March 1977, it strangled Shirley Vian Redford, 24 years, whereas his/her three young children were in the house.
In December 1977, it strangled Nancy Fox, 25 years.
In April 1985, it removed then assassinated Marine Hedge, 53 years.
In September 1986, it strangled Vicki Wegerle, 28 years, whereas his/her 2 year old son was present.
In January 1991, it removed then assassinated Dolores Davis, 62 years.

Between 1974 and 1978, Refusals To split sent mails to the local newspapers, in which it described its murders and its phantasms violent one.

In March 2004, after a newspaper published an article on the murders of the BTK, Rader started again to send letters, accompanied by effects having belonged to some of its victims. As from July, it left packages containing of the objects: photographs, driving license, etc, of its victims, which were found by the police force. These objects made it possible to go up its trace and Dennis To split was stopped in February 2005.

BTK = " bind them, torture them, kill them" (to bind them, torture them, kill them). It is the nickname which had given itself Dennis To split.
