Reform Marois

The reform Marois is the reform of the Education system Québécois generated by Mrs. Pauline Marois, Minister for the education of the Quebec. This reform aimed at laicizing the Québécois school system, founded since the Canadian Confédération on the acquired rights of which the religion.

The Protestant school commissions Catholiques and of the territories were modified and became French-speaking or anglophone. For example, the largest school commission of the province, located in the middle of Montreal, passed from the name “Commission of the Catholic schools of Montreal (CECM)” to the “School commission of Montreal (CSDM)”.

More than one change of nomenclature, this reform also influenced the programmes of studies by opening the door with the project to abolish the obligatory courses of morals or religion (with the choice of the pupil and its parents).
