Bertrand Cantat , born with Pau the March 5th 1964, is a Chanteur French, member of the group Noir Desire.

Biography

It passes its youth in Normandy then returns in south-west in 1980. It meets during its secondary studies the future members of the group Noir Desire: Denis Barthe which plays of the battery, Serge Teyssot-Gay of the Guitare, and Frederic Vidalenc of the low .

The first group is called “psychoz” inspiration new wave - with which it gains a springboard rock'n'roll organized by FR3. He repeats with his friends as an amateur between 1981 and 1984. As he does not play of any instrument, he starts to sing in the group. It forms then the group Noirs Desires in 1987, later on famous in the singular Noir Desire , after long discussions with their new recording company Barclay.

Bertrand Cantat reiterates these actions with the group, but also in solo at the time of one evening to the Institut of political studies of Bordeaux in April 1999, invited by the pupils.

When its group receives the Victoire of the music for the album Rock of the year and the clip of the year the March 9th 2002, Bertrand Cantat speaks to rise against the operations of their recording company, Universal and her president, Jean-Marie Messier, with in particular this sentence: “Even if we are embarked on same planet, we are definitely not same world! ”.

Died of Marie Trintignant

The July 27th 2003, during a marital argument, Bertrand Cantat strikes her partner, Marie Trintignant, on several occasions. She dies of her wounds the 2003. The crime having taken place in Lithuania with Vilnius, it is condemned by the justice of this firm country to eight years of prison for “murder made in the event of unspecified indirect intention”. The September 28th 2004, Bertrand Cantat is transferred to the prison from Low wall, close to Toulouse.

In 2005, Hubert-Felix Thiéfaine place on his album Scandale Melancholic person the song Télégramme 2003 dedicated to Bertrand Cantat and so that it crosses since it was condemned for the homicide of Marie Trintignant.

In 2007, for its model behavior, Bertrand Cantat profited from several permissions of very discrete exits and deposited in July a request for conditional liberation to which the parquet floor was not opposed. October 15th, that Ci is granted. Following the parole required by the singer during the summer 2007, its file was examined. It profited thus from a parole and left prison in the night from October 15th to 16th 2007. Its release woke up antagonistic passions. Indeed, as of the shortly after her release, Bertrand Cantat received death threats.
