Reddish sandpiper

The reddish sandpiper niche on the Arctic coasts of North America and the islands Wrangel and Chukotka in Russia. The species winters in the east of South America (Argentine, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia). The species, very common still about the years 1890-1900 was led, in 1920, at the edge of the extinction following an intensive hunting. Its manpower are evaluated with 15.000 individuals approximately. In spite of difficulties for the direct observation of the sites of nesting, the countings obtained during the migrations show that the populations continue to decline.
