Redcliffe
Redcliffe is a Péninsule in the west of the Baie Moreton in the south-east of Sand the Grande Area of the Queensland, in Australia. Redcliffe is also the name of the city which fills the peninsula and borders the capital of state Brisbane in south-west. The city is into large part a dormitory and a community of reprocessed of Brisbane, but plays also the part of center of services for the communities of islands of the Baie Moreton, of tourist center for bay, and of center of the prosperous industry of fishing. In 2004, its population is of approximately: 40000 people for only 37 km.

Economy
The shrimp and fish fishing is principal primary industry, with especially of the small industries located at Clontarf and Kippa-Boxing ring. Tourism is also an important industry in this zone, with approximately: 500000 visitors each year. This importance of tourism exists since the end of the 19th century, when people came in boat to appreciate its sure, sheltered and sandy coasts. The zone is rich in natural resources, with many sand beaches and picturesque parks. It is a popular place for the residents of Brisbane seeking a place of relaxation. De Redcliffe one can reach the island Moreton, or one can sail on the Caboolture River in Deception Bay.The principal shopping malls in the zone are Peninsula Fair, Redcliffe City Heart, Kippa-Boxing ring Village and Margate and Deception Bay Shopping Centers. The majority of the large national retailers have outlets with Redcliffe.
History
The zone initially was visited by Matthew Flinders on July 17th 1799. The explorer John Oxley recommended Redcliffe to the governor of Brisbane like the site of a penal colony. He, lieutenant Miller, a crew and 29 prisoners sailed on the Amity on the basis of Sydney and arrived at Redcliffe on September 13rd 1824. In 1825, the colony was moved on banks of the Rivière Brisbane, and Redcliffe was deserted until the years 1860, when it was indicated like holds agricultural. The residential development started in the years 1880 and the population increased remarkably after 1935 when the Hornibrook highway was open. The Hornibrook bridge, length of 2,8 km and having two ways, crossed the mouth of the river to the Pines (Prick To rivet) and connected the peninsula to Brisbane. A bridge of replacement to three ways, the Houghton highway, was open in 1979.

The suburbs of the town of Redcliffe are Clontarf, Woody-Point, Kippa-Boxing ring, Margate, Scarborough, and Rothwell on the Isthme connecting the peninsula to the continent.
At the North-West of the peninsula is located the Bay Disappointment (Bay Disappointment) in the Comté of Caboolture, and at south-west and the south (crossing the Baie Bramble) are located the suburbs of Brighton and Sandgate of Brisbane.
