Red sun

red Sun is a French film carried out by Terence Young, left in 1971.

Synopsis

At spring 1871, in the West, a Japanese ambassador accompanied by two samurais, Kuroda and Namuro, goes to Washington on board a coach deprived to give to the President of the United States, on behalf of the emperor of Japan, a saber of samurai of great value. In this same train a frightening band of outlaw travels, ordered by Link and its second Gotch, which project to attack the mail van. The gangsters seize gold but Link and Gotch also steal the sword, not without to have killed Namuro. Gotch coveting for him only the gold loading makes kill Link by its accomplices. After the departure of the gangsters, Kuroda finds this one seriously wounded. It looks after it in the hope that it will help it to join the band. The two men decide to continue with foot and without weapons the gangsters through the desert. Link tests by all the means of losing Kuroda because this one swore to kill Gotch to avenge his/her companion. Little by little a kind of mutual respect starts to be born between the two men.

In a Mexican small village, they find Cristina, been engaged of Gotch and take it as an hostage. After three days of forced march, Kuroda, Link and Cristina arrive for the hacienda where Link gave go to his/her former companion. Being wary, Link advances through the snap rings, protected by Cristina. Inside the hacienda, all is calm, Kuroda joined them. Gotch and its men emerge then from the attics… but suddenly one of them collapses transpierced by an arrow: the comanches attack! The combat is violent. They succeed in taking refuge in a field of bamboo but the Indians set fire to it… Gotch wounds the samurai mortally. Link, which promised to him to give the sword to the President, keep silent then his former accomplice.
