Red and green parrot

If it existed forever, the red parrot and green ( Necropsittacus borbonicus ) were one of endemic Perroquet of the island of the Réunion and died out towards 1680.

One holds only little information about it, if it is not the description made by Dubois of “ parrots to head color of alive fire ” on the island.

As, it could be a question of another taxon whose existence is much more certain as one found with the Mauritius and the island Rodrigues formerly, Necropsittacus rodericanus . However, a third taxon of the kind Necropsittacus itself is strongly suspected of being only the red and green parrot, having been observed only with the Réunion. It is about Necropsittacus francicus .
