Red and blue chair

The chair Rouge and blue is a chair drawn by Gerrit Rietveld in 1917-18. This object constitutes one of the first explorations of the artistic movement De Stijl in three dimensions. In the beginning the chair was not painted with this added palette primary educations the black, the white and the gray, if specific to this movement. Conceived initially with a natural wood completion, Rietveld gave him these colors thereafter about 1921, after having joined the movement officially and having met Piet Mondrian. Other versions exist, in white in particular.
