Red Wings Junior of Strait

The Red Wings Junior of Strait was a frankness from the Ontario Hockey League which disputed only three seasons in the league, of 1992 with 1995. Red Wings Junior were based with Detroit in the Michigan.

History

Red Wings Junior of Strait were a team of the Ontario Hockey League which was created in 1992 to become the team second of the frankness headlight from the city, the Red Wings de Détroit of the National league of hockey. This team was regarded as the anteroom of the large Red Wings. She evolved/moved in the room of Wings, the Joe Louis Arena .

The junior team was the most popular attraction in the city during the strike of the LNH of 1994-1995, placing this team number one, of many spectators, in the league of hockey of Ontario and the Canadian Ligue of hockey.

Whereas an public offering of purchase of Peter Karmanos and Compuware Corp. to buy Red Wings of Mike Ilitch, in LNH came to fail, Peter Karmanos did not wish more that the Juniors be the team second of the city. After three seasons Wings Junior became the Whalers de Detroit, in partnership with the team of the LNH of the Whalers de Hartford. The team moves in 1997 with Plymouth to become the Whalers de Plymouth.

By gaining the championship of the OHL in 1995, Red Wings Junior were qualified for the Coupe Memorial.
