Red Rodney
Robert Roland Chudnick (September 27th 1927 - May 27th 1994) known under the name of Red Rodney was a Trompettiste of American Jazz.
Born with Philadelphia, he became professional musician dice age the 15 years while working in the middle of the years 1940 for Jerry Wald, Jimmy Dorsey, Georgia Auld, Elliott Lawrence, Benny Goodman and Brown. It is by listening to Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker that it adopts the style Bebop then choosing to play with Claude Thornhill, Gene Krupa and Woody Hermann. In 1949 it agrees the proposal of Charlie Parker to join its quintet. Only white member of the group, it was baptized " Albino Red" when the group played in the States of the south of the the United States. In 1950, it integrates the orchestra of Charlie Ventura. In 1958 it is constrained to give up the jazz: opportunities are done rarer, the white trumpet players of bebop are less better accepted and especially it has problems with the police force because of its dependence to drug. It continues to work in other musical fields. Its dependence the constrained one with the flight and the fraud; it spends 27 months in prison. With the beginning of the year 1970, it is ruined by its medical expenditure following an apoplexy and it turns over to the jazz. It is then able to be detoxicated and of 1980 to 1982 carries out five albums noticed with Ira Sullivan, in which it plays a jazz post-bebop. It continues to work and record in the years 1990.
