Red Rabbit is a novel of Tom Clancy, published in 2002.

Short summary of the history

The Pope, of Polish origin , revolts against the fate reserved for its country by the Union of the Soviet socialist republics. It projects to resign and regain its country.

The Soviet Politburo sees of a very evil eye this decision per hour when its position is weakened and where the Polish trade unions start to revolt against the Soviet presence.

It decides, on a proposal from the chief of the KGB, to make assassinate the chief of the Catholic church.

One of the members of the service of the transmissions of the Soviet secret service, learning what is woven and realizing of the weaknesses of the socialist mode, decides to balance the operation with the powers Occident ales, in condition however of making it leave the Soviet territory like its family.

Criticisms

This work inspired of the Attempted murder of Jean-Paul II of May 13rd, 1981 is very criticized by fans of the author for his lack of credibility, documentation and an intrigue punt.
