Red Quinquina
The red quinquina (Cinchona pubescens) is a tree sempervirent of the family of the Rubiacées.
Use
The bark of the red quinquina contains Alcaloïde S, of which the Quinine, which has recognized medicinal properties. Was used it formerly to treat the Paludisme. Other species of Cinchona , whose yellow Quinquina and Quinquina, also produce quinine. The dried bark of the red quinquina is known in Pharmacie under the name of Cinchonae cortex .
