Red House
The Red House is the symbol of the movement Arts & Crafts. It was created by William Morris and Philip Webb in 1859 in the neighborhoods of London, with Upton.
The name of Red House comes from the use of red bricks with, for the first time, an organic structure: it is the provision of the parts which implies the structure of the frontage. All the elements are artisanal.
It is also one of the first testimonys of an evolution towards the Art nouveau, which is prolonged by the opening of a store (1861).
Red House is also the name of a song of Jimi Hendrix appearing on the album Are You Experienced?
