The code that they produce is opened, thus other programmers can add adaptations and improvements to it. When a problem is discovered, a whole community of users can cooperate to find a solution. The development process in its globality is faster and less expensive than a model owner for which the code is not put at the availability of the users, by using for example open bookstores source or by starting again an already existing project.Red Hat sells subscriptions of assistance, formations and services of integration which help the customers to use the open software source.
