Red Book (standard audio CD)

Red Book or Compact Disc DIGITAL Audio' (CDDA) is the name of the standard of the Audio CD.

History

The name Red Book (meaning in French delivers rouge' ) comes from the color of the book containing the specifications, established by Sony and Philips in 1980.

Since extensions were conceived, whose specifications were defined in books of different colors, like the Yellow Book ( yellow book ) for CD-ROM. All these specifications are known like the Rainbow Books ( books Arc-en-ciel )
