Rechila

Rechila (in Spanish, Requila ) was the king of the Royaume suève of 441 until its death in 448. As of 438, it Co-reign with his father Herméric and succeeds to him the full powerss with dead of this last in 441.

Rechila was very aggressive towards the Catholic church (it was itself arianist). It supports the clergy priscillianist évèques buildings. It confirms the relation between feudality and Rome and alliance with the Bagaudes. It directed several military campaigns in Lusitanie and Bétique. In 439, it conquers Mérida, in 441, Seville.

At the end of its short but animated reign, it has almost all the Andalusia and part of Iberian Raising, as well as Tarraconaise.

His/her son Rechiaire succeeds to him in 448.
