Recession parodontale
See also: Recession
A recession parodontale or gingival recession is a modification of the Gencive on the level of the collet of the Dent.
Etiology
The etiology is complex.- too important Forces occlusales (Bruxisme) or not physiological. For example in the event of dental migrations, or if occlusion is not adequate (absence of canine protection in particular).
- a bad brushing, too vigorous, with a brush with teeth too hard, and badly adapted movements (horizontal brushing, instead of being " in rouleau").
- the recessions generally appear at individuals presenting of the risks to the level parodontal: fine attached gum, little keratinized.
Treatment
- the treatment generally consists of a gingival Greffe. This one makes it possible to reinforce the gum, and thus to stop the evolution of the disease.
- One can carry out a balancing occlusale, if the recession is supported by dental malpositions.
- It is possible in the event of night bruxism to carry a gutter during the night, which will absorb the excessive forces occlusales. This gutter is carried out at the dental laboratory, according to a print of the teeth of the patient, on whom is moulded a plastic plate.
