Recent past
The recent past is a periphrastic Temps French calling upon a Semi-auxiliary. It makes it possible to express an event which has just occurred (ex: It has just rained. ), and which thus often has been just carried out in a recent past (from where the recent Adjectif ). One forms a recent past starting from the semi-auxiliary to come and of the Infinitif from the verb, preceded by the preposition by :

- “I ate” (Preterit)
- “I ate” (Passé made up)
- “I have just eaten ” ( recent past )
