Rebberg
The Rebberg (of the German Rebe , vine, and Berg , mountain) is one of the districts of the town of Mulhouse. Located at the South of this one, it skirts the railway and extends on part of the cities close to Riedisheim and Brunstatt. The local habit wants thus that a differentiation takes place between " Rebberg" , whether they are Rebberg of Mulhouse, Riedisheim or Brunstatt.
Rebberg is characterized by a very marked relief, its high hills constituting the northern extremity of the geomorphological Sundgau. It thus dominates the remainder of Mulhouse and the plain of the potassic basin which extends to north. The presence of this relief guided the layout of the Canal of the Rhone in the Rhine then of the railway, located in against-low.
Residential district of the city, it finds its origins during the time ostentation of the history of the " Manchester française" , of the time of the rise of the Mulhousian Textile industry. One finds there still today many houses of Master competing from their impressed styles of influences and different architectural times.
The botanical garden and zoological of Mulhouse, constituting a remarkable landscape unit, is located in the middle of this bosky bower.
It is it should be noted that in Rebberg two metal turns are:
- the Turn of the View-point 20 m height. It is accessible to the public and offers a panorama on the area.
- the Transmitting the View-point which is in fact the Émetteur of Mulhouse of TDF. Its height is of 194 Mr.
