Reason of State

The reason of State is called upon to cover an act made by a State or its representatives, which is then issued Secret of State to avoid a Guerre, a Révolution, a Pandémie… It acts of a sacrifice to avoid the worst: the reason of State implies the realization of a contrary action with certain interests or ideals of the State, with its allies, with its nationals, in order to still avoid a larger disaster towards the latter. It should be noted that the reason of State can be employed wrongly, by whim sometimes, to avoid a simple discomfort.

The International law largely recognizing the principle of Territorial integrity all over the world, thus remains only the Secret services under cover of this reason of State to act, which implies the recurring sentence: “if you are taken, we will deny any implication” .

Criticisms towards the silence of the Russian president Vladimir Poutine following the tragedy of the submarine Koursk were very virulent. Only conjectures and wild imaginings, whose evocation is repressed by the capacity, qualify phantasm the idea that the Americans could be in question. Insofar as such a revelation by the capacity would have caused a climbing of the tensions being able to lead to a recourse to the nuclear threat between the two countries, one can perceive, in the silence of the Kremlin and his will of smothering of the media by wear, a manifestation of the reason of State. Example among as well of others, as much exempts evidence as the reason of State takes precedence over any other consideration.
